Waterpik is a great product, and my dental hygienist agrees that using one has made all the difference in the health of my teeth and gums. I had to scrap my old one after my cat chewed through the little tube leading to the jet, and was very pleasantly surprised to discover that the design has been improved in several ways: (1) it has a smaller “footprint” which takes much less space on my bathroom counter; (2) it is significantly quieter, so I can now use it late at night without fear of disturbing the neighbors; (3) the little tube to the jet is now designed in such a manner that when you replace the jet in the bracket after use, the tube coils neatly and disappears into the body of the device (safe from little cat teeth); and (4) the whole device is more streamlined and attractive-looking. Others have correctly noted that the well for holding water is not as large as in the older models, however I have not found this to be a problem, and it only takes a second to add more water if you need it. Nice to see a product that has been intelligently redesigned!
Wow! I’m really impressed! I’ve had trouble cleaning under my bridge. I can fish floss under there and clean it good, but it takes a lot of time. Now I just blast it clean in minutes. It does a good job of cleaning my back teeth. I’ve never been totally satisfied with just flossing. Now they feel perfectly clean. I love this device! It doesn’t replace flossing. It does a great job under the gums, but I still feel cleaner after flossing. It’s great as a between brushing “touchup”. I recommend it to anyone. My mouth hasn’t felt this clean in years. I feel like I’ve come from the Dentist after a cleaning. Thats a great feeling to have every day.
Bought it a couple weeks ago at Walmart for $60. This is my first try at water jet picks. It’s not that loud. I rinse with Listerine after, to get a nice clean feeling. The tank is big enough for one cleaning. The power is more than enough for me; I have it set to a little more than half the power. If I set it too high, it actually hurts. Overall, I’m satisfied with no complaints. I’ve only tried the normal attachment and that’s all I really need. Hopefully it’ll last long. There is a 2 year warranty.
I purchased this product back in October 2006 after being told by my dentist I was at the beginning stages of periodontal disease. He suggested I purchase the waterpik or face gum surgery. Needless to say I chose the waterpik instead of spending over $1000 for surgery. I just came back from my checkup in March 2007, the dentist says my gums have healed wonderfully and no surgery is needed. It has all been because I took my dentist’s advice and invested a little bit of money instead of spending way too much money for surgery. I am one believer in the Waterpik.
